Multi-talented R&B and hip-hop vocalist Jhene Aiko brought out Dogg Pound’s Kurupt for her special guest on Sunday night at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.
The two performed “Ain’t No Fun (If the Homies Can’t Have None)” where Aiko sang the late hip-hop singer Nate Dogg’s opening line and then Kurupt came out to perform his verse to cheers.
After the duo hugged, Aiko said the Kurupt duet topped the surprise performance superstar Drake gave last week because “I’m from L.A. and he’s a god.”
The audience for Aiko was so packed into the Gobi tent that people were forced to watch from outside.
She also performed a cover of Tupac’s “Keep Your Head Up” and original songs like “Higher,” “Stay Ready (What a Life)” without Kendrick Lamar (where she said she wished Lamar could have performed his verse) as well as “Spotless Mind.”
