She's an established musical superstar, but this marks her film debut.

And perhaps Nicki Minaj had this in mind at The Other Woman premiere in Los Angeles on Monday, as she opted to forgo her usual outlandish dress code in favour of something much more simple and conservative.

But the 31-year-old was still sure to put plenty of cleavage on show with the low-cut neckline of the otherwise demure garment.

The floor-length knitted cream dress, which boasted a striking fabric, was designed by Alexander McQueen and hugged every inch of Nicki's famous curves.

The front of the dress, however, left little to the imagination and allowed the Super Bass star to put ample decolletage on show as she marched along the red carpet.

Nicki had her nails painted black and her long dark hair straightened and styled in a centre part, with large hoop earrings standing as the only major accessory to the ensemble.

As she made her way down her very first red carpet celebrating her role as an actress in a movie, she flashed her usual signature sultry smile and pulled various poses.

Earlier in the day, the songstress was dashing around Los Angeles, making several stops to take care of her press duties prior to the premiere.

Sporting a stunning and equally tight black two-piece garment, Nicki told her Twitter followers she had been speaking with various media outlets about her role in the Nick Cassavetes directed flick.

The black dress was no less flattering to her bombshell of a physique either, with the garment flashing some flesh around her midriff, and she teamed it with sky high red and black sandals.

The star made the most of the photo opportunities she stumbled across, posing seductively on a chair in a pushup position - captioning this one 'hello boyz' - and later cuddling up to an abstract pink statue for photos that went straight to Instagram.

Nicki has a supporting role alongside Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, Kate Upton, and Taylor Kinney in the romantic comedy and the stars posed for a group shot at Monday night's premiere.

I’m not a particular Nicki Minaj musical fan, but I am a fanatic when it comes to her exaggerated  S-curves, the likes of which she was showing off in just a bikini. We don’t often see Nicki dressed down so. I really do like it. A little more undressing and I will love it. Save those for your next uploads, Nicki.

Nicki Minaj is being sued for copyright infringement over her hit song Starships.

Musician Clive Tanaka has filed a lawsuit against the rapper, producer RedOne and songwriters Carl Falk, Wayne Hector and Rami Yacoub.

He claims they copied 'substantial portions' of his song Neu Chicago for the chart-topping single, which reached number two in the UK last year.

The mysterious electronic artist, who has never revealed his real identity, had attorney Christopher Niro file legal documents on his behalf in Chicago court on Wednesday.

Neu Chicago has amassed 100,000 listens on YouTube and was licensed for two major television adverts in Scandinavia. 

The lawsuit alleges RedOne, Carl and Rami, who have all lived in neighbouring Sweden, had 'a very good opportunity' to hear the song.

According to the Chicago Tribune newspaper, Niro contends: 'We believe [the songs] are similar to the point that it is nearly impossible for it to be a coincidence.'

Clive is seeking compensation for the damage done to his 'professional reputation and goodwill' following the song's release in March 2012, as well as all the profits Nicki and her collaborators have earned from Starships.

This isn't the first time the 30-year-old rapper has faced legal trouble over her music.

In 2010, the former American Idol judge was sued for allegedly damaging a pink Lamborghini sports car she rented for her Massive Attack music video shoot.
